Based upon a concept started many years earlier Norfolk and Suffolk 4X4 Response was the first dedicated group of its kind. Formed in 1999 to support the local community in times of adverse weather the group is open to any make and model of 4x4. The group provides a coordinated fleet of 4x4s, spread across both counties. The drivers have been assessed and, where necessary, trained to operate their vehicles safely and professionally and are ready to be called out at any time of the day or night. With specified minimum levels of equipment for safety and recovery and additional kit which, in many cases, includes long range VHF/UHF radio transceivers, Norfolk & Suffolk 4X4 Response provides a valuable resource for the community. |
