Coast to coast Green lane run and camping 2 Months ago
Just looking for numbers of those interested as this is currently pending endorsement from the committee.

With a seeming rekindling of interest in Green Laning within the group and after a brief discussion with some of those that attended the Thetford lanes morning earlier this month I thought I would offer to put together a two day route going coast to coast from Hunstanton Norfolk to Aldeburgh Suffolk with a night of campfires and camping very kindly offered by Joe Putman at Wardley Hill Campsite free of charge for 4x4 Response members.

I will endeavour to tailor the existing route to make it suitable for all vehicles of varying ability and paintwork but there will be at least one moderate ford included which can be avoided if that isn't your cup of tea.

Despite the distance covered there is still a good portion of the route spent on unsurfaced roads and will be a chance to drive some of the slightly less driven lanes that we have to offer rather than the well worn (but still enjoyable) Thetford ones.

It should work out as a full, possibly long day laning on the Saturday and a half day on Sunday.

As mentioned above Joe has kindly offered to let 4x4 Response members camp free of charge but any non members accompanying you will need to pay £7 per adult or £3 for children which I'm sure you will agree is still very reasonable. I believe Joe has a fairly relaxed attitude to camping at Wardley (please step in Joe if I am wrong) so you can camp by, in, on or even under your vehicle if you so wish, under canvas or tarp but I don't think caravans are allowed (may be wrong) and would clearly be a little impractical to tow with you from Hunstanton THIS IS NOT A CHALLENGE KALVIN! Campfires are allowed for Neanderthal type cooking and to keep warm whilst drinking cold beer outside in what will most likely be 3 inches of snow, but I believe Joe will need to provide a method to keep it off of the ground.

The date is currently looking likely to be the 3rd and 4th March.

Maximum number of vehicles will be 12 which I doubt will be an issue but only looking for a rough idea of those that would be interested at the moment just to make sure I won't be there all by myself.

All correct Darren,
I cannot have caravans or large campervans. I would imagine that time of year it’s likely we will have the campsite to ourselves. Vehicles are not allowed onto the camping field but we can takeover the campervan field , carpark (grass) and if needed my recreation field. If anyone wants to hammock camp they will have to park their vehicle about 20 meters away from the trees. We have toilets, a hot shower and drinking water (as long as it’s not frozen).
We do not have electric hook up but I will provide a fine fire to congregate around. For more information head over to our website.. www.wardleyhillcampsite.com.
There are also two huts available to book should anyone want more creature comforts than the back seat of their car.

I think this would be a super trip.. count me in!
